What is coaching?

What is coaching?

The term coaching means different things in different contexts.

Coaching with me is not about being taught what to do or being given solutions.

I’m not the expert in your life. You already know more about your circumstances, values and constraints than I ever will.

What coaching can offer is dedicated space to think, reflect, challenge assumptions and work out what feels right for you.

People bring all kinds of things into coaching: work, parenting, relationships, confidence, identity, burnout, transitions, uncertainty or difficult decisions.

What matters is having the space to explore those things honestly, with support and without judgement.

What coaching is not

  • Therapy

  • Mentoring

  • Advice giving

  • A productivity programme

  • About “fixing” you

What happens in a coaching session?

  • One-to-one conversations, usually online

  • Space to think out loud in a calm, confidential setting

  • Questions that help you see things differently

  • No advice, no judgement, no pressure

  • Time to untangle thoughts, feelings and decisions

  • Sessions shaped around what you need that day

Through having this space together, I’ll help you be more able to:

  • untangle complexity

  • notice patterns and assumptions

  • explore different possibilities

  • reconnect with what matters to you

  • move from reacting to choosing
